Rehabilitation Services
The primary purpose of the Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy Department is to identify conditions that would put the worker at risk for injury. We can provide you with a variety of services that can decrease the number of worker’s compensation related injuries as well as perform pre-employment screening prior to placing high-risk employees. Our services include the following:
- Ergonomic Assessments:
- On-site evaluations
of how workers perform their duties and what changes in the workstation
or work environment can be made to prevent injuries before they
occur.
- Functional Assessments:
- Simulating the worker’s
duties in the clinic can determine if the employee can perform
the duties of a job safely and effectively as part of a pre-employment
or annual evaluation.
- Back Injury Prevention:
- Therapists conduct
on-site training to reduce back injury and provide exercises
for a healthy back.
- Jobsite Analysis:
- Therapists will visit and evaluate the workplace using the dynamometer to measure force of push/pull lift activities; in turn, educating the employer on changes that could be made to decrease ergonomic stressors and setting up an accurate functional assessment.
Once the screening is completed a summary report is sent to the employer noting the worker’s ability to perform his/her duties and identifies risk areas, if any.
